For this still life, my goal was to explore different textures of objects, while sticking to my preferred way of drawing animals. My composition consists of one dog mouth that cuts off the page (the left) with a leathery texture, a stuffed animal dog in the middle with a fluffy texture, and finally a dog jar with a shiny texture on the right. To create the textures, I used varieties of mark making techniques like smooth shading and small strokes to create texture. To help create the shiny texture on the jar, I used an eraser to pop in the highlights. For the leather dog, I focused on more fine detailing since it is the closest thing on the page. Finally, for the middle dog, I focused on making values with pencil.
